Winds slow racers

Ramblers

A hilly and windy course meant times were slower than usual when the Ruamahanga Ramblers held an open handicap race from Belvedere Hall on Tuesday.

Some road cones were blown over when the course was being set, but the wind did ease before racing commenced.

In what was her first outing for the Ramblers, Olivia Horsburgh had the bad luck to trip over and cut her hands and knees but, after some first aid, she showed her grittiness by completing the full 2km.
