Featherston Swimming Club hit on a clever title for their centennial this weekend.

They are calling it their 100Plusone Celebration in view of the fact they are now in their 101st year

And with something like 110 past and present members from all over New Zealand as well as Australia having signified their intentions to be part of a busy programme, organisers are justifiably rapt with the response.

Tomorrow's centenary dinner at the Anzac Hall will see two former Olympians, Jon Winter and Danyon Loader, playing a leading role.

Winter, a former member of the Featherston club, is MC while Loader is guest speaker.

Another feature of the dinner will be the cutting of the cake by patron, 88-year-old Phil Murphy QSM, who served the Featherston club over a long period of years in numerous administrative capacities.
