Swimmers raise funds
Special Olympics Wairarapa are staging an aquatics event at the Genesis Recreation Centre pool in Masterton tomorrow.
Special guests will include life patron Sir Brian Lochore and Masterton Mayor Garry Daniell.
SOW coach Gaylene van Wyk said more than 100 swimmers were expected to contest races which would get under way at 10am.
Tomorrow's meet will also double as a fundraising venture to help Wairarapa be represented at the 2012 national Special Olympics Games in Dunedin next year.
Tickets in a huge Christmas raffle containing all sorts of goodies are sure to be in demand.
