Rimene third in show final

Masterton's Tina Rimene placed third in the open woolhandling final when the New Zealand Corriedale shearing and woolhandling championships were held as part of the 150th Canterbury A&P; Show in Christchurch late last week.

Rimene posted 306.426 points in an event won by Taiwha Nelson of Alexandra with 273.25 points. Second was the well-performed Keryn Herbert of Te Awamutu with 302.97.

The Kiwi team of Brian Thompson and Tom Hogg won the blade shearing test against Australia by 18 points.
