Fernridge School bus driver Les Warrington officially opened the school's Friendship Bus Stop yesterday. He is seen here punching the ticket of pupil Tessa Jones-Baker, 6. The Friendship Bus Stop was selected from a number of ideas voted on by the children for pupils who would like someone new to play with. At the "bus stop" there are children ready to buddy-up and play games together. Mr Warrington undid the ribbon then punched tickets that were an agreement to abide by the kaitiakitanga philosophy of the bus stop. This was one of the initiatives at school that helped them win an Enviro Schools award, which they will be presented with at the Greater Wellington Regional Council Enviro Schools Awards Ceremony on Monday in Wellington.
