Man charged with drug possession

A MASTERTON man, 26, was charged with possession for supply of a class A drug after he was arrested for threatening behaviour in Masterton at the weekend.

The man was involved in a fracas on Chapel Street in the early hours of Saturday, where several people were arrested for breach of the liquor ban and breach of the peace.

He was arrested by police a short time later at another Masterton address for using threatening language and was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.

Police also arrested several people for trespass at two bars in South Wairarapa at the weekend, when patrons refused to leave at closing time.

Two Carterton men were arrested at the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, in Carterton, for trespass on Saturday night, and three Greytown men had to be removed from the White Swan, in Greytown, after they refused to leave. The men, aged 29 to 30, were arrested for trespass.
