Two Parent Teacher Association stalwarts have retired after serving 27 years between them on school organisations in Masterton.

Sandy Butcher and Robin Corbett were farewelled at the final meeting of the Wairarapa College PTA.

The pair have served in numerous Masterton PTA groups for 12 and 15 years respectively.

Mrs Butcher started at Solway Kindergarten before moving to Harley Street School and Wairarapa College, where she was chairwoman for a number of years.

Mrs Corbett began at Landsdowne Kindergarten, before volunteering at Totara Drive School and Lakeview schools and Wairarapa College, where she served as secretary.

The women have become firm friends through their shared involvement with school committees and both have treasured the camaraderie of belonging to PTA, which they strongly recommend to other parents.
