Grants up for grabs in new scheme

Cricket

Wairarapa's cricket community could benefit from the newly launched ANZ Cricket Grant Scheme.

Clubs, schools, individuals and even social teams are eligible to apply for anything from bats, stumps and helmets to scoreboards and pitch resurfacing by explaining why they deserve the grant and how they will benefit.

Worth $100,000 in total, the scheme is aimed at helping cricket grow at community level. ANZ head of sponsorship Sue McGregor said: "This scheme has been established to support our nation's love of cricket and help people get more from the game they love, whether they are playing socially on the beach or at club level."

Applications for the Cricket Grant Scheme are open until March 12 and can be completed at www.anzcricketworld.co.nz
