Gordon in form

Young Masterton shearer David Gordon continued his imposing form of this season when he won the intermediate final at the Pahiatua Shears on Sunday.

Gordon shore his six sheep in 9min 49.16s and scored 36.959 points, giving him a clear advantage over second-placed Catherine Mullooly who was awarded 37.681pts.

Other Wairarapa shearers to take the limelight were Hemi Braddick of Eketahuna, who was third in the senior final, and Casey Bailey of Masterton, who also made the senior final where he came sixth.

Golden Shears defending champion John Kirkpatrick took the open final with Rowland Smith second and Cam Ferguson third.
