Giants wary of Totara

Softball

Giants are taking nothing for granted in their Hutt Valley President's grade men's match with Totara Park at Maidstone Park tomorrow.

A 27-0 win over Dodgers last weekend in a game that ended after just three innings maintained Giants' unbeaten record - but the opposition was so poor they are reading little into that performance, especially considering they are up against a Totara Park side which has seldom failed to test them in previous games.

"We'll need to lift our game a notch or two," Giants president Allan Clarke said.

"It should be a close go."

The Giants premier two side will meet Totara Park in a Hutt Valley-Wellington competition match at South Park, Masterton, on Sunday, starting at 3pm.

Both teams have had two wins and one loss this season and a battle royal is anticipated here.

The Giants under-15 and under-13 squads started their seasons with impressive wins last weekend and they have away matches tomorrow.

The under-15s play Totara Park at Maidstone Park and the under-13s play Te Aroha at Te Whiti Park.
