After the weekend's powerful gales Christine Meyer's Christmas light display was "absolutely had it" but thanks to the generosity of a community-minded citizens her house will be in lights once again.
Ms Meyer said the wind was so powerful it bent her gazebo poles, ripped ropes and smashed Father Christmas ornaments around her yard.
She said her chances at setting everything up again in time for judging were looking unlikely.
Ms Meyer said two of them had spent a good 40 hours setting up the display.
"It took a lot of elbow grease to get it together," she said.
That is when the owner of Perry's Mart, Callum Perry, came to the rescue.
He donated a new gazebo and chipped in some cash for Ms Meyer's power expenses.
"All together he gave me $250 to help me out when he heard I might not do it this year because of the costs," Ms Meyer said.
Mr Perry said he did not hesitate to help out when he found out about Ms Meyer's predicament.
"The lights are a great thing for the community. She put a lot of hard work into it and it is only appropriate that they get some support and help."
This is Ms Meyer's third year entering the lights display competition and she said she does it for a bit of fun.
"I love it. It is for the kids and the older people - they really enjoy it."
She said the Christmas lights are good for children who miss out on the magic of Christmas.
"There are plenty of children who don't have much of Christmas so it is a really rewarding thing to do, I get a lot of pleasure out of it."
Ms Meyer's display includes a teddy bear picnic, reindeer and Santa.
