Claims that pest control concerns have been repeatedly raised with the Pukaha Mt Bruce Board and ignored have been dismissed by the board chairman Bob Francis.
Mr Francis said the claim, made in a letter sent to Wairarapa Times-Age by the Royal Forest and Bird Society, did not line up with the facts.
He said apart from ``some general emails'' that had been sent to ``everyone and sundry'' there had never been a formal approach to the board from the society
complaining about pest control at the wildlife reserve.
Mr Francis said the whole approach taken by Forest and Bird to the problem of kiwi deaths in the forest had been ``destructive and unhelpful''.
He said a peer review commissioned by the board had been completed  and would be released to the public unabridged.
