NAMED: Name suppression lapsed today for Masterton mother, Tariana Jones, 32, one of five co-accused charged with aggravated burglary in connection with the fatal bashing of featherston supermarket worker Glen Jones.

The fifth person charged in connection with the fatal beating of Featherston man Glen Jones can now be named.

Tariana Jones, a 32-year-old mother from Solway, Masterton is the last to be identified of five people charged in connection with the death of the Featherston supermarket worker.

Her interim name suppression lapsed at 4pm today.

Mr Jones, 40, was attacked in his house just after midnight on January 12 and died in Wellington Hospital about five hours later.

All five defendants have been charged with aggravated burglary and are next due to appear in Masterton District Court on February 7.

The five are accused of entering Mr Jones' home armed with a wooden bat and an axe handle intending to commit a crime.

Judge Bruce Davidson extended Jones' interim name suppression until today at a hearing on January 14.

Media were not permitted to remain in the court while the reasons for Jones' name suppression were outlined.

During that court sitting name suppression was lifted for two other accused, Matthew McKinney, 28, and Toni Miller, 22.

The final two defendants, Hayden Ranson, 27, and Kristofer Jones, 23, were arrested days after the attack.

Miller and Tariana Jones have been released on bail. Kristofer Jones, Ranson and McKinney were all remanded in custody.
