About $4000 was raised for the Cancer Society of New Zealand at the Property Brokers Relay for Life Gala Day in Masterton on Saturday.

Event co-organiser Erin Towgood said steady crowds had browsed the 30 stalls at the gala day, which was held in the green space at Queen Elizabeth Park.

Stallholders came from as far away as Foxton and included arts and crafts, activities, and children's rides.

Fundraiser raffles were held and a winning wheel was in operation on site.

"We had lots of prizes from local and national sponsors and there were major prizes that included a $250 Interislander voucher and an iPad Mini."

The gala day precedes the annual Relay For Life fundraiser at the oval in Queen Elizabeth Park that will run overnight on February 23.

"We're really stoked with the day and it was a pretty good lead-up to the relay."
