Extra grant for Tinui turf

TINUI people will be hoping for an Indian summer so that they can enjoy twilight tennis on a new artificial turf that should now become a reality thanks to a magnanimous gesture by Masterton District Council.

The council's policy and finance committee has agreed to give the artificial turf proposal for the small country settlement a hand-up by a second grant, this time for $30,000.

It will also supply bridging finance of up to $25,000 to ensure that the project is sufficiently funded for work to start almost immediately.
