The second New Rags Christmas Market to be held on Saturday is the perfect way to start the festive season, organisers say.

Curator Abbie McCall said there would be a broad variety of stalls this year, and the 50 places which had been offered were booked.

She said two chefs would provide an "amazing" Christmas dinner at the restaurant, which would be set up at the back of the market and a local photographer would be there to take family photos.

Wairarapa Singers will entertain the crowd with Christmas carols, and The Real Christmas Tree Company, based in Featherston, has offered trees for the hall.

"It's the perfect way to start the Christmas season," said Mrs McCall. "We're really pleased that we've had such support from the community."

Mrs McCall said they were also providing trolleys for people to donate food for the food bank, which went well last year. "We'd love to be able to give them as much as we can," she said.

The New Rags Christmas Market will be held at Genesis Recreation Centre from 4pm until 9pm.
