Carrington win trophy

Carterton-based Carrington club prevailed when the Masterton Croquet Club hosted their annual Four Clubs Trophy tournament.
The winning Carrington combination of Harry Murrell, Judy Betts, Stella Smith and Stewart Pye finished with two wins and a draw while Waikanae were runners-up with two wins and one loss. Carrington drew with Waikanae 13-13, beat Masterton 17-6 and then had a handsome 15-4 victory over Palmerston North club Takaro.
All clubs met each other in doubles games with a pair from each club competing for one hour and then the other pair taking over for the last hour.
All games were handicapped events.
