Emma Warren and her mates will do anything to get to the Big Day Out next year - even if that means transforming her car into a motorised moving mural.
The Masterton 17-year-old, pictured third from left, and about 20 of her friends spent two days painting her Mitsubishi Magna station wagon in a bid to win 14 free tickets to the January 15 show at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium through a C4 competition.
Pictured with Emma is, from left, Kate Shannon, 18, Georgina Warren, 14, Zoe Porter, 17, Charlotte Warren, 16 and Elizabeth Monaghan, 18.
About 10 bottles of one-litre paint was used for the job, although as it washes off easily Emma's parents had no problems with giving consent.
"They were all happy for us to do it - they love it," Emma said.
She expects to hear by Friday whether C4 rewards them for their efforts.
But even if they don't win, the girls say the car has been turning so many heads that the paint may stay on for a little while longer.
"It's wicked."
