FIFTH ACCUSED: Tariana Jones.

The fifth person charged in connection with the fatal beating of Featherston man Glen Jones can now be named.

Tariana Jones, a 32-year-old mother from Solway, Masterton, is the last to be identified of five people charged in connection with the death of the Featherston supermarket worker.

Her interim name suppression lapsed at 4pm yesterday.

Mr Jones, 40, was attacked in his house just after midnight on January 12 and died in Wellington Hospital hours later.

All five defendants have been charged with aggravated burglary and are next due to appear in Masterton District Court on February 7.

The five are accused of entering Mr Jones' home armed with a wooden bat and an axe handle intending to commit a crime.

Judge Bruce Davidson extended Jones' interim name suppression until yesterday at a hearing on January 14.

Media were not permitted to remain in the court while the reasons for Jones' name suppression were outlined.

During that court sitting, name suppression was lifted for two other accused, Matthew McKinney, 28, and Toni Miller, 22.

The final two defendants, Hayden Ranson, 27, and Kristofer Jones, 23, were arrested days after the attack.

Jones was later captured near Hunterville and Ranson gave himself up to police in Upper Hutt.

Miller and Tariana Jones have been released on bail. Kristofer Jones, Ranson and McKinney were all remanded in custody.

Four Square worker Glen Jones, who was not related to any of the accused, was farewelled by more than 700 mourners on January 18.

He was described by his brother, Brent Jones, as "a man with a heart of gold and only a little bit of mischief in his eye".

A work colleague said he was a kind man who was always smiling and willing to help.
