Greytown Arts festival-goers will be treated to a Yiddish revival - for free.
David Weinstein, of Klezmer Reb, said the band is excited to be playing in Wairarapa.
"Especially Greytown - it's the coolest town in Wairarapa," he said,
Klezmer Reb is an old Jewish style folk band that mixes Hungarian and Italian music together to create a modern ethnic folk vibe.
Weinstein describes the band as a happy one. "The music we play is joyous and infectious."
He said the band has its authentic Jewish folk moments but it is mostly a mesh mash of styles.
"If you want to dance then come down and check us out," Mr Weinstein said.
He said the band play plenty of "story songs" for those who prefer to sit and listen.
Weinstein's wife Rosemary O'Hara is a fifth-generation Wairarapa girl. "Her grandfather started the Golden Shears competition."
Klezmer Reb will be performing at an outdoor venue alongside the Greytown Town Hall on Sunday, January 24, at 11am and 3pm.
